Youth and Family Health Education Series

Healthcare Pathways Seminars

Navigating the Canadian Healthcare System and Health Literacy Workshops

Our health education programming spans summer workshops, in-class sessions, and collaborative events with community partners. We teach children and teens about essential health topics, ranging from sun safety, physical activity, nutrition, and sleep hygiene to mental health, online safety, and managing screen time.

Sessions are designed to be engaging and age-appropriate, using games, discussion, and interactive activities to encourage participation and retention. We also support caregivers and families through these workshops, fostering a shared understanding of how to stay healthy—physically, emotionally, and socially.

We partner with schools in underserved communities to deliver engaging classroom presentations that introduce students to healthcare careers. Using hands-on demos and age-appropriate discussions, we teach youth how to measure vital signs, understand what healthcare professionals do, and envision themselves pursuing science and medicine.

These targeted interactive sessions are designed to equip immigrant and refugee families with the tools needed to understand and navigate healthcare in Canada. They go beyond the basics, addressing common barriers to care. We explain key topics like OHIP coverage, how to book a medical appointment, what to expect at the pharmacy or hospital, how to find a family doctor, use walk-in clinics, access mental health services, and seek out culturally appropriate care, all delivered in accessible, multilingual formats.. Our goal is to reduce confusion and increase confidence in using available healthcare services.

English Classes for Youth

Women's Health & Navigation Seminars

School Supply Packages

Language remains one of the biggest barriers to inclusion, and a social determinant of health. Our weekly English classes, tailored for newcomer and refugee communities, help youth improve communication skills, build confidence, and better navigate school, work, and community life.

We offer women-only sessions that address reproductive health, maternal care, mental wellness, and how to advocate for oneself in the healthcare system. These safe spaces also provide peer support and referrals to trusted local resources, particularly for underserved, refugee and newcomer women.

Every child deserves to start the school year feeling prepared. We collect and distribute backpacks filled with essential supplies such as notebooks, pencils, crayons, and rulers. These efforts help relieve financial stress for families and encourage school engagement from day one.
